Valentine's Day Dinners
Wednesday, February 10 will be our Gluten-Free, prix fixe, four-course Valentine's dinner for $40. We're capping it at 12 reservations, as there is one seating only at 6pm. The menu will be Mushroom Wild Rice Soup, followed by a Berry Salad with Poached Pears and a Raspberry Vinaigrette. The main attraction will be Brie, Aparagus and Roasted Red Pepper-stuffed Chicken, with Truffle-scented Vegetables and Twice-baked Potatoes. (Ask about a vegetarian option if you need it.) Batting cleanup is our killer dessert app, Chocolate Nemesis Cake. Coffee and Tea are also included. Very nice.
Saturday, February 13 is our regular Valentine's Day. It's a five-course dinner for $60 at 6pm. Menu is an Appetizer Trio of Mushroom Strudel, Crab Avocado Quesadilla, and Pickerel Cheeks with Caviar, Crème Fraiche and Fennel Salad; Cauliflower/Tomato Basil Yin/Yang Soup with Portugese Water Bread; Spring Salad with Poached Pears, Raspberries, Goat Feta Ice Cream and a White Balsamic Vinaigrette; Penne with Chicken and a Manitoba Chanterelle Mushroom Marsala Cream Sauce - OR - Ossobuco (Veal) with Saffron Risotto; and Churros with a Spiced Chocolate Bisque and Chilled Marsala Sabayon with Strawberries. Coffee and Tea are included.

Since its opening in 2008, EAT! bistro has become one of downtown's most popular eateries. EAT! was chosen as one of Ciao Magazine's Best New Restaurants of 2008, and voted Winnipeg's Best New Restaurant by Uptown readers. In April 2008, Queen's Jubilee Award-winning chef Candace Hughes unveiled her unpretentious, yet innovative menu at 274 Garry Street. Sharing the space with Aqua Books at this former Chinese restaurant, EAT! is delicious, comfortable and affordable. Candace's range of experience is wide - from Bergmann's on Lombard to Fusion Grill to De Luca's Cooking School. She's brought all of her best ideas to the table (and scrapped the lousy ones).
The menu (which you'll find via the links above) is also vegan-friendly, celiac-friendly, and of course, just plain good. Virtually everything is made from scratch (including the fab desserts - maybe you've heard of our famous cupcakes?) so we know what's going into every dish.

Reservations
We accept reservations, except for lunchtime Tuesday-Friday. (Weekday lunch is first-come, first-serve, because that's the most efficient way for us to make sure as many as possible get fed.) Reservations are especially recommended for dinner before Aqua Books or MTS Centre events, or you may not get a seat. Please let us know as early as possible, or we cannot guarantee a table: 949-1231 or kelly@eatbistro.ca. Last dinner reservation time is 6:45, so you can get all the savoury food you crave before dessert time kicks in at 8:15.
EAT! bistro is open 11am-9pm Tuesday - Saturday.
